Why a Doula?

How great would it be to have your very own “Baby 101” resource before birth, during the birthing process, and in your home – that also provides postpartum meal preparation, baby or household laundry, light housekeeping, and a calm, happy presence?  Perhaps you just want a great night’s sleep while still having that after birth support. I provide comprehensive, professional, trustworthy, and kind care that supports the mother and baby bond.

Postpartum doulas provide care to “mother the mother”.  I not only care just for you, but I care for the family as a whole.  A well-cared-for mom and baby provides rest and calm to the entire household.  I meet you where you are, with no set agendas.  Whether you need baby care, someone to talk to while you nurse, or just some alone time while someone does your laundry, preps dinner and feeds you lunch, I offer it all.

Perhaps you have questions about your little one not sleeping through the night, or what is normal for newborn and infant sleep. I create schedules and a routine to ensure a great stretch of sleep for you, while I care for your little one during the night.  I can either create a sleep plan for your baby, or help you implement a sleep plan in your home.   Whatever your family needs, that is within my expertise, I do it all!

Kindly,

Kendra

I don’t even know where to start when I talk about Kendra, other than amazing. I’m in complete awe of her as a woman, a doula, and a mom. She has been so extremely helpful from the beginning of my pregnancy all the way through after my baby was born. She was always supportive, incredibly knowledgeable, and helpful when I needed her. She feels less like a doula and more like a long time friend, she basically became part of the family for my pregnancy. She validated my struggles and helped me make the best choices for me and my baby every step of the way. I had a homebirth with Kendra as my doula and there’s no way possible without her. She was there for me every step of the way. In fact as soon as I told her I may be in labor, she practically ran to my house. She coached me through every stage of labor and helped me send the best messages to my midwives to keep them in the loop. Where the midwives lacked she succeeded, she was there with me when I was at 5 cm dilated and the midwives didn’t show up until I was 10 cm, can you imagine trying to do that alone? Don’t! Just call Kendra! She stayed with me through my entire 24 hour labor (she was even pumping when I didn’t need her). She walked, squatted, laughed, and talked with me all the way through my labor. I owe my entire homebirth to her as she was my biggest cheerleader through it all. And postpartum she’s been here even better if you can believe it, she’s been there for me every single day. Even if I don’t reach out to her she will message me to make sure I am doing alright. She’s helped me with lactation issues, mental health, validating the hardships of motherhood, all of it. I’d sincerely recommend Kendra to any and every pregnant woman I meet. She truly loves what she does and it shows.

Kendra is absolutely amazing. She is kind, caring and has you and your baby’s best interest at heart. I felt so comfortable with her from the get go. During my pregnancy she was my rock, someone I knew I could trust for advice. I basically had her on speed dial my entire pregnancy! I don’t know how I would done it without her support. She not only helped me and my baby, but my husband as well. Kendra taught my husband techniques for my pain management during pregnancy, support during labor and how to speak up for my with I couldn’t do it. This resulted in the best possible outcome for my labor and delivery during COIVD-19. The hardest time of my life was made easier thanks to Kendra and her doula services. From one mama to another, she’s more than a doula, she is a life long friend.
